First Generation

1. Ludwig1 Kemmerling (#2714) was born Slaitdorf, Esslingen, Wuerttemberg, Germany 06 May 1747. Ludwig died 10 Sep 1819 at 72 years of age.

He married twice. He married Anna Christina Bonewitz Abt 1767. (Anna Christina Bonewitz is #2715.) Anna was born Abt 1750. Anna was the daughter of Jacob Bonewitz and Anna Marie ?. Anna died 1806 Pine Grove Twp., Berks Co., Pennsylvania, at 56 years of age. Her body was interred 1806 Salem Cemetery. He married Margaret Spittal 1809. (Margaret Spittal is #2721.) Margaret was born 28 Dec 1765. Margaret died 28 Jun 1847 at 81 years of age. Her body was interred Greeseytown, Pennsylvania.

Ludwig immigrated, 1751. Destination: America. Ludwig served in the military 1777. Ludwig's will was probated Huntington Co., Pennsylvania, 11 Sep 1819. Ludwig Kuemmerlin born May 6, 1747 in Slaitdorf, Esslingen, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Arriving in 1751 with his family on the ship "Nancy". Ludwig appears in 1771, as a farmer and lumberer in what is now Washington Twp., Schuylkill County, PA. He married a Miss Anna Christina Bonewitz, and they had a known family of 9 children. They first attended Zion (Red Church) Lutheran outside of Orwigsburg, PA till Salem (Hetzel's) Church opened in the late 1780's, then the family attended there. Ludwig served as a soldier in 1777-18 in the Berk's Malitia, 1st Batallion, under Capt. Bretz. Then returned to his family on Swatera Hill. Anna Christina passed away in 1806 in now Washington Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA and is believed to be buried in Salem (Hetzel's) Church Cemetery, an the old section, ( markers are missing and existing markers are in german script). Ludwig Kuemmerlin then moved, to then Huntington Co., PA, now Blair Co., living in Frankstown Township. Here he owned 200 acres of land, and remarried in 1809 to Margaret Spittal. He passed away in September of 1819, date not found yet. The lands he owned in Berks/Schuylkill County were transfered to Oldest Son Henry before Ludwig moved to Huntington Co. Then upon his death, his lands in Huntington/ Blair County passed to his sons John and Daniel. The land in now Blair County was located 1 mile northwest of Canoe Creek, PA. And is now mostly under water as this area was turned into Canoe Creek State Park and a lake was made for swimming and fishing. @nd Wife Margaret was born Dec. 28, 1765 and died June 28 1847, buried in Geeseytown, PA.(0) from Roy C. child 3 ii. Rosina Kemmerling (#2728) was born on (birth date unknown). Believed to have died young.(0) from Roy C. Kemmerling

child 4 iii. Anna Maria Kemmerling (#2722) was born 09 Jul 1771. She married ? Lingel. (? Lingel is #2723.)

child + 5 iv. Heinrich Kemmerling was born 01 Oct 1773.

child + 6 v. Catherine Veronica Kemmerling was born 1776.

child + 7 vi. Susanna Cathrina Kemmerling was born 29 Jan 1779.

child + 8 vii. Rosana Kemmerling was born 17 Sep 1781.

child 9 viii. Dorothy Kemmerling (#2731) was born 26 Jan 1785. She married ? Kellerman. (? Kellerman is #2732.)

child 10 ix. Daniel Kemmerling (#2733) was born 09 Sep 1797. Daniel died 1844-45 Huntington Co., Pennsylvania, at 46 years of age.
