Dora was the daughter of Daniel Schwartz Herring and Isabella Brown. Dora died 24 Jun 1976 Pottsville, Pennsylvania, at 72 years of age. His body was interred Mar 1954 Wayne Twp., Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania, St Marks (Browns) Church. Roy became betrothed Jan 1954. !st Lt. Roy Charles Kemmerling, of the 774th Troop Carrier Squadron, based at Ardmore AFB, Oklahoma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Kemmerling, Pine Grove RD #2, died instantly at 10:29 p.m. last friday, March 19, when his twin-engine C-119 cargo plane crashed to earth in flames on a farm 19 miles south of Annapolis, MD. There were 5 crewmen and 12 passengers aboard the ill-plighted plane, in addition to Lt. Kemmerling and none survived the crash. The cargo ship had landed earlier at Bolling Field, D.C. to refuel on a routine flight from Maxwell AFB, Alabama, to Mitchell Field, New York. Lt. Kemmerling was born in Pine Grove RD2 and would have observed his 28th birthday Dec 17th, 1954. And had he lived, would have become the bridegroom of Anna Mae Lauck, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Lauck, Pine Grove RD2 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, June 5th. Their engagement was announced in January. He graduated from Pine Grove High School with the class of 1944. He first enlisted in the service April 12, 1945 and served in Germany until 1948. After being home a year, He re-enlisted, this time in the Air Force, March 29, 1949, as a cadet. He finished his cadet training at Connelly AFB, Waco, Texas, Aug 20 1949, and was commissioned 2nd Lt. in 1950 when His assignment again took him to Europe. He returned to the U.S. in April 1953 and was assigned to the 774th Troop Carrier Squadron, Ardmore AFB, Oklahoma. Lt.
