He married three times. He married Sister One Morgan Est. 1826. (Sister One Morgan is #6049.) He married Eliza Ann Nichols in Madison Co, Virginia, 6 Nov 1828. (Eliza Ann Nichols is #6051.) Eliza was born in Madison Co, Virginia Est 1812. Eliza⁽⁹⁵⁾ was the daughter of Edwin Nichols. Lawrence and Mildred Cole McDaniel live at River Hill, located on Route 662 west of Wolftown. The home overlooks the Rapidan River and commands a view of Allen Mountain.

An exact construction date cannot be established. Records show heirs of Edmund H. and Eliza Ann Lewis (Robert S. Lewis and Mildred A.C., his wife, of County of Culpeper; Margaret P. Lewis, Abram B. Lewis, Mary C. Lewis, and Thomas G. Lewis of County of Madison) sold the approximately 233 acres to Battaille F. T. Conway in 1859. According to an old deed, this was land inherited by Eliza Ann Lewis from her father, Edwin Nichols. Edwin Nichols, a large landowner, also owned the John W. Price land from 1839 to 1852. This Price land is now owned by Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. Albert B. Farry.

He was listed as a ward in Madison Co, Virginia, 28 Sep 1826. At 26 years of age Edmund became the father of Abraham Buford Lewis Sr. in Madison Co, Virginia, 12 Oct 1833.⁽⁹⁷⁾
