He married twice. He married Renee ? Bef 1885. (Renee ? is #5443.) He married Anna Brim Indiana, 1 Nov 1885. (Anna Brim is #5444.) Anna became the mother of Marva Maggart Indiana, 1887.

At 28 years of age Daniel became the father of Marva Maggart Indiana, 1887. Burl lost 9,000 in a stock deal. He waited out in the road with a shotgun for the man who swindled him.⁽⁸⁾
