Abram Buford Lewis Sr. was born October 12, 1833, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, son of Henry Jr. and Eliza Nichol Lewis. Abram migrated to Bell County in the early 1850's, where he was a farmer and rancher and lived in the Midway and Tennessee Valley communities.

Lewis was active in the Baptist church in the Midway and Harmony communities. He was a charter member, Grand Council, Friends of Temperance, State of Texas in 1881. On June 25, 1866, he was elected Bell County commissioner. His commission was granted and signed by Governor James W. Throckmorton on September 15, 1866.

On January 18, 1862, Lewis married Elouise Cathryn Graves. Ten children were born to this marriage.

A.B. Lewis Sr. died August 30, 1900, and his grave in Hill Cemetery is unmarked. A memory marker was placed in North Belton Cemetery and gives his birth and death dates. Mrs. Lewis continued to live in Tennessee Valley then in Belton after his death. Mrs. Lewis died February 26, 1926.

488 ii. Mary Margaret Lewis⁽¹²⁵⁾ (#6054) was born Belton, Bell Co., Texas 19 Aug 1864. Molly died 24 Feb 1941 in Bell Co., Texas, at 76 years of age. Her body was interred Aft 24 Feb 1941 in Bell Co., Texas, North Belton Cemetery. She married Robert Branham 15 Sep 1883. (Robert Branham is #6083.)

489 iii. Kate M. Lewis (#6055) was born Belton, Bell Co., Texas 30 Aug 1866. Kate died Nov 1937 in Temple, Bell Co., Texas., at 71 years of age. Her body was interred Aft Nov 1937 in Temple, Bell Co., Texas., Hillcrest Cemetery.⁽¹²⁶⁾ She married Jor J. Miller Jr. 30 Aug 1866. (Jor J. Miller Jr. is #6084.)

490 iv. Willie Henry Lewis⁽¹²⁷⁾ (#6056) was born Belton, Bell Co., Texas 18 Jan 1869. Willie died Apr 1934 Purcell, McClain Co., Oklahoma, at 65 years of age. He married Dora Martin 8 Apr 1888. (Dora Martin is #6085.)

491 v. Ina Pink Lewis (#6057) was born Belton, Bell Co., Texas 25 Feb 1871. Ina died 10 Apr 1966 Shawnee Mission, Johnson Co., Kansas, at 95 years of age.⁽¹²⁸⁾ Her body was interred Aft 10 Apr 1966 in Bell Co., Texas, North Belton Cemetery. She married twice.
